6. Robin Hood

Synopsis : Oscar winner Russell Crowe stars as the legendary figure known by generations as Robin Hood, whose exploits have endured in popular mythology and ignited the imagination of those who share his spirit of adventure and righteousness. In 13th century England, Robin and his band of marauders confront corruption in a local village and lead an uprising against the crown that will forever alter the balance of world power. My Review

From the preview, it looks like a boring moving. It make me think twice before watching this movie. But that after I convinced my friend twice also to watch this movie. =.=" This is not a typical Robin Hood story after all. It really is an "untold story" of Robin Longstride aka Robin of the Hood. For me, the title of the movie is to be blame if not many people watching this movie. It should be change to Robin Hood : The Untold Story or something else. It really was an entertaining movie. Even my friend also questioned why he has doubt to watch the movie. The action and humor is good although the hero is old. Hehe.. If you want to know the history on how Robin Longstride become Robin Hood, how he met with Friar Tuck, Little John and other friends, you better watch this movie. I'm giving a rating of 7.0/10 for this movie. :)

5. Shutter Island

Synopsis : It's 1954, and up-and-coming U.S. marshal Teddy Daniels is assigned to investigate the disappearance of a patient from Boston's Shutter Island Ashecliffe Hospital. He's been pushing for an assignment on the island for personal reasons, but before long he wonders whether he hasn't been brought there as part of a twisted plot by hospital doctors whose radical treatments range from unethical to illegal to downright sinister. Teddy's shrewd investigating skills soon provide a promising lead, but the hospital refuses him access to records he suspects would break the case wide open. As a hurricane cuts off communication with the mainland, more dangerous criminals "escape" in the confusion, and the puzzling, improbable clues multiply, Teddy begins to doubt everything - his memory, his partner, even his own sanity.

My Review

I was waiting to watch this movie since it's been introduce in the cinema. But, all of my friend doesn't prefer this movie. they said that it looked kinda boring. I agreed with them just by looking at the preview. :P But the movie last for more than a month at Mid Valley GSC. Despite all the new movie, they still find a room to view the movie. That's what tempting me. At last, I decided to watch this movie alone. Hehe~ This is the best movie played by Leonardo Di Caprio since Titanic. I like this movie because it's full of speculation. You do not know who is mad man, the culprit and the bad man until the end of the story. This movie also makes me thinking from the beginning till the end. For the person who like an investigation genre, this is the best movie for you. For the rating ,I'm giving 8.0/10 for the movie.

4. Iron Man 2

Synopsis : With the world now aware of his dual life as the armored superhero Iron Man, billionaire inventor Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) faces pressure from the government, the press, and the public to share his technology with the military. Unwilling to let go of his invention, Stark, along with Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow), and James "Rhodey" Rhodes (Don Cheadle) at his side, must forge new alliances -- and confront powerful enemies.

My Review :

Here comes the sequel of the best superhero movie : Iron Man 2! As before, Robert Downey Jr. play his part very well. I like him especially in the Sherlock Holmes movie. I thought that Iron Man 2 will introduce Hulk as the Iron Man partner since Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) appear at the end of The Hulk movie two years ago (if you realize and watched The Incredible Hulk (2008). Well it's not. It's still a story of a superhero (Tony Stark) finding his way to become a superhero. Yeahh.. The first movie, he's already become a superhero but morally he's not. He's still a stubborn and selfish person who only think of himself. So, mainly this movie is about Tony Stark becoming a better man. Well, in the end he's got Pepper (Gwyneth Paltrow). :P But, Natalie Rushman/Natasha Romanov (Scarlett Johansson) rock! Hehe~ Good display by her till the end. As other superhero movie, there's a villain. In this movie, Ivan Vanko (Mickey Rourke) play as the villain who want to revenge for his corrupted father death. He played his character well but he died too easy.. :P It's also a scene in the movie where he asked for a specific bird. But till the end he's not getting his bird but satisfied with the one that given to him. That's confused me. Well if you are a smart super villain, you must wanted that 'specific' item. Anyway, Tony Stark + Gwyneth Paltrow + Scarlett Johansson + a lot of action saves the movie very much... I'm giving a rating of 7.5/10 for the movie. Thanks~

3. The Losers

Synopsis : A tale of double cross and revenge, centered upon the members of an elite U.S. Special Forces unit sent into the Bolivian jungle on a search and destroy mission. The team-Clay, Jensen, Roque, Pooch and Cougar -find themselves the target of a lethal betrayal instigated from inside by a powerful enemy known only as Max. Presumed dead, the group makes plans to even the score when they're joined by the mysterious Aisha, a beautiful operative with her own agenda. Working together, they must remain deep undercover while tracking the heavily-guarded Max, a ruthless man bent on embroiling the world in a new high-tech global war. Written by Warner Bros. Pictures.

My Review :

At first, I thought this movie was like The Spirit. Well honestly I don't like The Spirit. After seeing that Warner Bros produce the movie I decided to watch it anyway. Well, it's NOT like The Spirit at all... I watched this movie twice. :) It's not a "serious taken from the comic movie" like Max Payne or Resident Evil.. It's a watchable movie that have a lot of actions and it will make you laugh too. The most interesting character in the movie is Jensen (Chris Evan) who is a hi-tech computer man in the team and Max (Jason Patric) who become a psycho crazy evil man in the story. The storyline is good where in the end it's telling the audience there will be another sequence of the movie. :) So, I'm giving the movie a rating of 7.0/10.

2. Date Night

Sypnosis : Phil and Claire Foster are a couple who have been married for several years. Their days consists of them taking care of their children and going to work and coming home and going to bed. But they find time to have a date night wherein they go out and spend some time together. When another couple they know announce that they're separating because they're in a rut, Phil feels that he and Claire could be too. So when date night comes Phil decides to do something different. So they go into the city and try to get into a new popular restaurant. But when it's full and still wanting to do this, Phil decides to take the reservation of a couple who doesn't show up. While they're having dinner two men approach them and instructs them to stand up and go with them. They think the men are with the restaurant and want to talk to them about taking someone else's reservation. But it appears the couple whose reservation they took crossed someone and the two men work for this person. The men are after something, but whatever it is they don't have it.

My Review :

My first impression was it will be another of comedy flick by Steve Carrel. My friend (who already watched the movie) kept insisted that the movie is different. So, on 20th April 2010, I went to watch the movie. Laugh.. Laugh.. relax for few minutes.. then laugh again. It an endless laugh by the audience except for one scene where they were talking about their life in an Audi  which is kinda serious. Steve Carrel and Tina Frey gives their best in this movie. I think this is the best Steve Carrel movie after 40 Year Old Virgin. Well, it just take one bad decision on a date to end up funnily miserable. That what this movie mainly about. The action in the movie is funny but it's not much of an 'action'. Except for the car scene. If they put some kinda 'Jackie Chan martial art fighting' then it would be more fun.

The tag 18PL do not show what is this movie about. I suggest that the tag be changed to 18SX. That's what this movie about. =.=. There's a lot of dialog that is toward that. So, please, no children to watch this. Only open minded person allowed to watch the movie. Hehe~

So, that's all I wanna write about the movie. It's worth a watch but with less target audience. A rating of 6.5/10 is given by me.

1. Clash of The Titans

I've been thinking, what is the movie that I want to review first. So, why not start with the movie that I watched recently : Clash of The Titans. Please be aware that my review will contain spoiler. :P

Sypnosis : "The Clash of the Titans" is set in the Greek city of Argos where a war is about to explode between man and the gods. Perseus (Sam Worthington) raised as a fisherman, but is actually a demi-god. Perseus is the son of Zeus (Liam Neeson) who is about to take on the gods after the death of his family. Zeus' brother Hades (Ralph Fiennes) was the one who kill his family, and Perseus wants to kill him. However, it is Perseus's destiny to rescue the city of Argos from the ruthless rage of Hades and his Kraken monster. With nothing to lose, Perseus leads a band of soldiers on a quest to defeat the Kraken. In doing this, Perseus will prevent Hades from overthrowing Zeus and in turn destroying mankind.


My Review :

First of all, I like the graphic. It's kinda like watching 300. For those DOTA fans, there will be some character that will remind you of DOTA heroes. If you already watch Percy Jackson and The Olympian : The Lightning Thief or you were an expert in Greece myth, you will not have difficulty to watch this movie. There were some scene that need more explanation. Sam Worthington played his role very good as in AVATAR. It's kinda like rush to the ending movie because I really felt that the director want to end the movie in a fast pace . The intro and the middle or the story is full of breathtaking action, but the ending is not so good

Religiously, there were some people detest to this movie because they said that the story try to teach us that we can fight GOD. My advice to them is that just watch it for FUN. I had fun watching this film. Personally, I think that guidance from parent/guardian is important if you want to bring children to watch this movie.

In conclusion, this movie is worth to watch and a rating of 7/10 is given by me.

* I watched this movie in 3D two days ago... and it's not much of a 3D movie. I'm not impress with the 3D experience on the movie.. Except for the translation that I'm not understand.. =.=. My advice is that don't waste your money/time on this film for the 3D version. It's as much as the non-3D one..
